In our experience, the best possible business recruitment program is a great business retention program. Once excellence is established in retention programming, MDC should prepare a brochure or other business services communication device (e.g., a CD) to demonstrate the merits of being a Downtown Meridian business. This device should then be made broadly available to the development community (including property and business owners in Downtown Meridian). Periodic press releases should be prepared to highlight the strategic advantages for Downtown businesses and other private land uses.
