This is an era when the business sector is need of regular, ongoing workforce training. By establishing a continuing education specialty, the community of Meridian would be able to serve its local companies substantially better. This specialty would become, in effect, a business retention and recruitment tool.

The point of this action is to link the continuing education capacity with local business needs. Primary emphasis will be on organizing a communications package and then implementing it. Because Downtown business retention is the focus here, the Downtown Association would be well suited to lead the effort, complemented by assistance from MDC.
